Concept PACKD for you!

PACKD is a modular solid pod based travel dispensing system. It is designed to reduce plastic waste, simplify packing, and accommodate and adapt to various journeys.

The WHY?

Asset 7PACKD .png

Packing should feel like anticipation.
Instead, it begins with risk management.

Asset 4PACKD .png

Travel turns into measurements.
Milliliters decide what comes with me.

Asset 3PACKD .png

One squeeze too much, and now its everywhere, squeeze just a little and it slips.

Asset 8PACKD .png

Bought for one trip. Thrown away after.
Too tedious to clean.

Everything goes into a ziplock.
Just in case.
Plastic, standing in for trust.

Multiple Minis

Leakage Anxiety

The problem was never the liquids.

It was the system around it.

The HOW?

How might we take the stress out of travel while putting care back into the planet through intuitive, lifestyle-led design?

Why this matters?

Plastic bottles can be saved if an individual shifts to a reusable kit.

PACKD isn’t just a container, it’s a behavior shift.

Because travel stress didn’t come from the container
It came from

Designing PACKD meant

how people prepare, carry, dispense, and discard products across a journey.

designing those moments instead.

Lets take you through the experience.

PACK

Designed to replace workarounds,

not add another item.

Designed around real

packing behavior.

TRAVEL

The system scales with trip length, not product volume.

Modular extension units.

Adaptable to a range of products.

Any Product. Same System.

Solids in transit. Liquids only when dispensed.

Interchangeable pods allow the system to adapt to different routines.

Supports dual products within a single form.

The “solid bar” isn’t brittle soap — it’s a compressed surfactant gel

USE

Designed for one-handed control, even with wet hands.

Palm-sized scale, Button placement and grip geometry support confident use under running water.

Each side houses a dedicated nozzle and haptic button for independent dispensing.

The dispensing interface retracts to protect during travel.

A retractable nozzle keeps the system travel-safe between uses and prevents leakage anxiety.

REUSE

Designed to continue beyond a single journey.

Pods can be removed and replaced individually, allowing partially used pods to carry forward into the next trip.

The sections below unpack the process, decisions, and testing that shaped PACKD.

This is where the pace changes.

Existing Task Analysis:

Insight: Travel toiletries are used across multiple contexts, not just the shower.

The Existing Solutions:

Leak-prone, wasteful,

one-size volumes

Sustainable, but limited product flexibility

Reusable, yet still stressful in wet use

Insight: Most solutions optimize the container, not the travel experience.

Gaps Identified:

  • Convenience exists, but trust is missing

  • Fixed volumes don’t match trip length

  • Wet environments are poorly considered

  • Waste happens at the end of the journey

Insight: These gaps defined the system requirements for PACKD

Setting Design Decisions:

  • Trust - Stress-free Travel

  • Modularity - One size fits one mindset, in terms of trip length as well as customised routine.

  • One-handed use - Ergonomic and slip-free in wet environments.

  • Reuse - Lasts for more than one journey.

Competitive Performance Overview:

PACKD was evaluated against existing solutions across usability, adaptability, sustainability, cost effectiveness, and aesthetic appeal

to design a lifestyle-led product.

Ergonomics Considered

Gemini_Generated_Image_d72rm1d72rm1d72r.png

Dimensions were informed by 5th percentile female to 95th percentile male hand data, with a 40–50 mm grip diameter and thumb reach within a 45–55 mm arc, enabling controlled one-handed use without grip shift.
